Javed Iqbal Advocate urged the federal and provincial governments to take immediate and effective measures to ensure the safety of journalists, including effective legal protection, action against crimes against media workers, and the end of censorship or financial pressure.
Javed Iqbal Advocate saluted the courage of journalists who risk their lives to get the facts.
He said that a society where there is no free journalism is like a soulless body. Let us pay tribute to those who speak out when all else is silent. Let us protect those who write the truth so that we can know the truth. On World Press Freedom Day, AIL stands with every journalist, past, present and future, who fights for truth, justice and accountability.
