Islamabad:
Astronomists have predicted the date of Eid-ul-Adha in Pakistan, in which it has been stated that when the moon of Dhul-Hijjah is expected to be sighted.
According to experts, there are few signs of the new lunar month starting in the country on May 27 because the age of the moon at sunset on that day will be only 11 hours, which is insufficient for sighting the crescent.
They said that due to the young age of the moon, its visual sighting will not be possible, so it is likely that Dhul-Qaida will not end on May 27.
Based on astronomical observations, experts say that on May 28, the age of the moon will exceed 35 hours, which increases the chances of seeing the moon of Dhul-Hijjah. If this prediction proves correct, then the first of Dhul-Hijjah in Pakistan may fall on Wednesday, May 29, and accordingly, Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated on Saturday, June 7.
It should be noted that Eid-ul-Adha depends on the lunar calendar and the clear sighting of the moon, so the final decision will be made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee after the moon sighting, however, the opinion of astronomical experts can help the public in preparation and travel planning.
