Lahore: Senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi was shifted to hospital from Kot Lakhpat Jail due to heart problems, where doctors have decided to discharge him after a medical examination. However, his family and lawyer have expressed serious concerns over this decision.
According to lawyer Rana Mudassar, Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s blood pressure and heart rate are still higher than normal, while several tests were conducted on him yesterday, the reports of which have not been received yet. He raised the question of how a decision to discharge him from the hospital can be taken without seeing the reports.
The family is also expressing concerns that the risks facing Qureshi’s health are being ignored, and an attempt is being made to transfer him from the hospital back to jail prematurely.
