Lahore: The All Pakistan Lawyers Convention has said in a statement that all political activists, including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, should be released immediately.
The Lahore High Court Bar and the All Pakistan Lawyers Convention of the Lahore Bar have issued a statement.
According to the statement, the PTI founder and political activists should be released immediately, all issues should be resolved through dialogue and force should be avoided.
The statement said that all political activists who were illegally detained should be brought to light immediately.
It was said, “We strongly condemn the recent amendment to the Pakistan Electronic Crime Act (PECA), this amendment is against fundamental rights like freedom of expression and freedom of the media.”
The declaration of the All Pakistan Lawyers Convention said that we stand with journalists and media workers across Pakistan, who are struggling for freedom of expression.
According to the declaration, the lawyers will fully defend Pakistan’s legitimate right to water under the Indus Waters Treaty.
