Islamabad: It has been revealed that the passwords and sensitive information of millions of social media users from all over the world, including Pakistan, have been stolen.
According to an advisory issued by the National Cyber ​​Emergency Response Team, a subsidiary of the Ministry of Information Technology of Pakistan, more than 184 million passwords, emails and information related to web services were leaked in an unsecured database. This information was publicly available in an encrypted file that any internet user could view without any verification.
This data leak is unusual and worrying in that the information included in it is not only related to global platforms like Google, Microsoft, Facebook, Instagram, Apple and Snapchat but also to government agencies, banks, health centers and private companies of many countries.
