Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi’s suspension petitions in £190 million case set for hearing

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court has set the suspension petitions of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Chairman Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in a £190 million case for hearing on June 5.

There has been a breakthrough in the £190 million case and the Islamabad High Court has set the suspension petitions of PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in the said case for hearing.

Acting Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court Sarfraz Dogar and Justice Muhammad Asif will hear the suspension petitions while the hearing on the petitions will be on June 5.

It may be recalled that last week, the PTI leadership had requested to schedule the case.

It may be recalled that on May 15, the Islamabad High Court issued notices to the parties on the applications for suspension of the sentence of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in the 190 million pound case.

The apex court had directed that the suspension of sentence applications be scheduled for a hearing next week.

Acting Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court Justice Sarfaraz Dogar and Justice Muhammad Asif heard the applications for suspension of the sentence of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in the 190 million pound case.

It may be noted that on January 17, 2025, Judge Nasir Javed Rana of the Accountability Court established in Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi, convicted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and sentenced his wife, Bushra Bibi, to 14 years in prison and 7 years in prison in the 190 million pound reference.

Accountability Court Judge Nasir Javed Rana also imposed a fine of Rs 1 million on Imran Khan and Rs 5 million on Bushra Bibi. If the fine is not paid, Imran Khan will have to serve another 6 months in prison while Bushra Bibi will have to serve 3 months.
