Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Central Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram has said that police-backed hooliganism is being committed in the by-elections to be held in Punjab’s PP-52 Sambrial constituency.

During a press conference in Islamabad, he said that by-elections are being held in Sambrial today, and the number of people who participated in our rally is unforgettable.

He said that what happened on February 8, 2024, the vote of this constituency of Sialkot was also seen, this seat was won by PTI on February 8 as well and today we still have the advantage.

He said that there was no robbery on the mandate again, that is why people came out in the morning, but the PML-N goons showed evidence of hooliganism there, hooliganism was carried out under the patronage of the police.

Sheikh Waqas Akram said that our people were thrown out of every polling station, our people were tortured, PTI people and agents were thrown out of polling station 37 and all this is happening there under the patronage of the police.

He said that the PML-N people are forcibly entering every polling station and casting their votes by stamping their feet, canter walls have been built outside the RO office since last night.

He said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf had won the Sambrial election, and people were intimidated but despite this, people were siding with the PTI.

The Chief Election Commissioner is asked why he is working despite the completion of his term. The helplines that these people created have been kept busy since yesterday. No check and balance policy has been seen at any station since morning.

Addressing the police, the PTI Information Secretary said that instead of protecting people in uniform, you are busy with hooliganism yourself. We strongly condemn this cruelty and brutality.

He said that there was a crowd of people in our campus since morning. Our turnout was high, which was visible to everyone. The illusion that was being created for a few days has been shattered by today’s election.
