Journalist Action Committee leaders senior journalists Rao Muhammad Jamil, Irfan Sagar, Malik Munawar Hussain, Jafar Abbas and Afzal Sindhu condemn the attack

Karachi: Publishing factual news has become a crime for reporters. Armed suspects riding motorcycles in the Quaidabad area murderous attack on crime reporter Akhtar Ali Malik of “Himayat”. He was shifted to the hospital in a seriously injured condition. Five armed suspects riding two motorcycles attacked the reporter near Rahat Shadi Hall on Mehran Highway within the limits of Quaidabad police station in Malir district. The suspects were armed with firearms and daggers. Akhtar Ali Malik was seriously injured in the attack. The incident was immediately reported to Police Emergency 15 and Quaidabad police. After taking legal action, the police sent the seriously injured Akhtar Ali Malik to Jinnah Hospital for medical treatment. Journalists Action Committee leaders including senior journalists Rao Muhammad Jamil, Irfan Sagar, Malik Munawar Hussain, Jaffer Abbas and Afzal Sindhu have termed the attack on Akhtar Ali Malik as a very tragic tragedy and said that the Sindh government has completely failed to protect journalists. Journalists do not have any personal enmity or grudge against anyone, they are being punished for writing the truth. The Journalists Action Committee has demanded that Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar and Sindh IG Ghulam Nabi Memon immediately arrest the accused in the murderous attack on journalist Akhtar Malik and provide protection to the lives and property of journalists.
