Balochistan: Assistant Commissioner kidnapped by unknown militants from Kech district

Kech: An assistant commissioner has been kidnapped by unknown individuals from the Kech district of Balochistan.
Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Hanif Noorzai was posted in Tamp tehsil of Kech district, adjacent to the Iranian border.

An officer of the Kech district administration, on condition of anonymity, said that Assistant Commissioner of Tamp tehsil Muhammad Hanif Noorzai was going towards Quetta in a car along with his wife, bodyguard and driver when the incident happened to him.
He said that more than six unknown armed men stopped the car at Tigranabad near Sreenkan, about forty kilometers from the district headquarters Turbat, and took the assistant commissioner along with his wife, bodyguard and driver to an unknown location.
As soon as the incident was reported, senior officials of the district administration, police, Levies, FC and other security agencies left for the scene with a heavy contingent.
A district administration officer said that a search operation has been launched to recover the kidnapped person.

Muhammad Hanif Noorzai hails from Quetta and has previously served as an assistant commissioner in various areas of the province.

Last week, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sorab Hidayatullah Buledi was killed in an attack by the banned Baloch militant organization Baloch Liberation Army in the Sorab district of Balochistan.
