Ahmedpur Sharqia: Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs Ramesh Singh Arora visited Tehsil Ahmedpur Sharqia, District Bahawalpur, where he distributed cheques under the Holi Grant to more than 250 families of the Hindu community. On this occasion, a ceremony was held at Jinnah Library, Ahmedpur Sharqia. Hindu families belonging to different areas including Tehsil Yazman, Khairpur Tamiwali, and Hasilpur participated. On the special instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, a cheque of Rs 15,000 was provided to each deserving family.
Provincial Minister Ramesh Singh Arora said on this occasion that the Punjab government is taking all possible steps to protect the religious, social and economic rights of the Hindu community. Thanks to the minority-friendly policies of the Chief Minister of Punjab, not only financial assistance is being provided for religious festivals, but also many measures are being taken for the construction and expansion of temples, educational scholarships, minority cards for minorities and training programs for youth.
The provincial minister said that new schemes are being launched for the Hindu community in the recent budget as well and a significant increase has been ensured in the Minority Welfare Fund. Assistant Commissioner Ahmedpur Sharqia Naveed Haider, representatives of the Hindu community and a large number of social figures were present on the occasion.
