London: The International Cricket Council has introduced new rules for One-Day Cricket.
Under the new rules, two balls will be used in an innings of an ODI match for 34 overs. From the 35th to the 50th over, the team will use the same ball, and the practice of using two balls throughout the innings has been abolished.
According to the International Cricket Council, this change aims to establish a balance between batters and bowlers.
The new rules will be implemented in ODI cricket from July 2, while in Test matches from June 17.
The ICC has also changed the connection protocols, according to which teams will write the names of substitute players for specific roles to the match referee before the start of the match.
