Canada Qualifies for T20 World Cup 2026

Canada: Canada qualified for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 with a convincing win over the Bahamas.

Hosts of the Americas Regional Qualifier, Canada bowled out Bahamas for just 57 runs. Kaleem Sana and Shivam Sharma took 3 wickets each, while Dilpreet Bajwa scored an unbeaten 36 off 14 balls to achieve the target in just 5.3 overs.

Canada qualified for the World Cup by winning all five matches in the qualifiers stage, remaining unbeaten. Canada defeated Bermuda by 110 runs, Cayman Islands by 59 runs and Bahamas by 10 wickets in the first round. They also won the five-over match against Cayman Islands in the second round by 42 runs.

The Canadian team, led by Nicholas Curtin, also participated in the T20 World Cup held in the United States and the West Indies last year.

Canada joins 11 teams that have already qualified for the 2026 T20 World Cup, including India, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, South Africa, the United States, the West Indies, Ireland, New Zealand and Pakistan.

The remaining seven teams will be decided through regional qualifiers from Europe, Africa and Asia-Pacific. The 2026 T20 World Cup will be played in India and Sri Lanka.
