Islamabad: Federal government debt has reached a new high in the country’s history, federal government debt has reached a record Rs 76,45 billion, State Bank has released data on federal government debt up to May 2025.

The State Bank has released data on federal government debt up to May 2025. According to the document, the government’s local debt has reached Rs 53,460 billion, and the federal government’s external debt remained at Rs 22,585 billion by May 2025.

According to the document, an increase of Rs 8,312 billion has been recorded in the federal government’s debt in one year.

According to the available document, in the first 11 months of the last fiscal year 2024-25, the federal government’s debt increased by Rs 7,131 billion, and in May, the central government’s debt increased by Rs 1,109 billion.

According to the document, in the 11 months from June 2024 to May 2025, the federal government’s debt increased by Rs 8,312 billion. By May 2025, the total volume of federal government debt was Rs 76,045 billion.

As of April 2025, the federal government’s debt was Rs 74,936 billion, as of June 2024, the volume of central government debt was Rs 68,914 billion, and as of May 2024, the federal government’s debt was Rs 67,733 billion.
