According to the police, Maulana Khan Zeb was riding in a vehicle when unknown motorcyclists opened fire on the vehicle and managed to escape.

Bajor: Awami National Party (ANP) leader Maulana Khan Zeb and a policeman were killed in firing by unknown persons in Bajaur, a tribal district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Another of his companions in the vehicle also lost his life in the firing while three people were injured.
