Peshawar: A history of humanity and sacrifice was created in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa when, after the death of 14-year-old Jawad Khan, a resident of Mardan, his family took a historic and courageous decision to donate his organs.

Jawad’s parents donated his two kidneys, two eyeballs, and liver after his death due to an accident, which were successfully transplanted in five patients and lit a candle of hope in the lives of these patients.

These five patients, disappointed with life due to organ failure, were waiting for a messiah, and Jawad Khan’s parents, Noordad Khan and their family, played the role of messiah for them. This is the first case of posthumous human organ donation in the history of the province, which set a new example of philanthropy.

In recognition of this humanitarian initiative, a special ceremony was organized by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur at the Chief Minister’s House, in which Jawad Khan’s father Noordad Khan was made the chief guest.

At the ceremony, the Chief Minister said, “Today, only Noordad Khan is entitled to sit in the chair of the presidency of this ceremony. No Chief Minister has given this honor to anyone else till date, this honor has come to Noordad Khan for the first time because he has done a great work of humanity.”

At the ceremony, Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur praised this courageous and selfless initiative of Jawad Khan and his family and said that this step is a beacon for the entire nation. On this occasion, the families of the transplanted patients also thanked Noordad Khan and his family and showered them with prayers.
