Peshawar: PTI’s political committee has instructed the covering candidates in the Senate to withdraw their nomination papers and has ratified the agreement made with the opposition. On the other hand, the candidates stood firm and refused to accept the leadership’s decision.
A meeting of the PTI political committee was held late at night in which members of the political committee defended the list of candidates on behalf of founding chairman Imran Khan.
The political committee said that the recognition of Irfan Saleem’s services to the party cannot change the list of the founding chairman. Objections were also raised in the political committee against Mashal Yousafzai, but due to the choice of the founding chairman, he was accepted as a candidate.
The political committee ratified the compromise formula with the opposition, but the disgruntled candidates could not decide to withdraw their nomination papers. The political committee directed the disgruntled candidates to withdraw their nomination papers and considered giving notice to the disgruntled candidates if they did not implement the decision.
On the other hand, a meeting of disgruntled candidates of the PTI was held, after which Irfan Saleem, Syed Irshad Hussain, Khurram Zeeshan, Ayesha Bano, Waqas Orakzai stood firm before the leadership. They refused to accept the decision of the political committee and refused to withdraw the nomination papers submitted for the Senate elections.
In this regard, the angry candidate Khurram Zeeshan has released his video message and said that the matter has gone far beyond the Senate election, an alliance is being formed with the illegal people of Form 47, with whom Khan does not even want to talk, now there is a crossroads where we have to choose between resistance or understanding, that is, political expediency, alliance, and sharing of closed rooms, and the choice will be resistance a hundred times out of a hundred.
He said that the illegal government of Form 47 has tortured Bushra Bibi, our senior leaders and thousands of workers by keeping them in illegal prisons, can an alliance with the political parties of Form 47 be the decision of any conscientious person? Can this be the ideology of my leader? We refuse to give up, we refuse to bow down, we refuse to be interested in politics, we do not do jihad, politics and seats go to hell, we stand on principles and will continue to stand.
Angry candidate Irfan Saleem said that we are against the game being played during the Senate elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, we are against the nexus that has been formed to bring people supported by the establishment, the PTI members of the assembly were elected in the name of Imran Khan, we stand against this system and will not allow the nexus to stain the assembly formed in the name of Imran Khan, we stand with the flag of Imran Khan’s ideology.
Irfan Saleem said that I will take a decision regarding the Senate elections after consulting party workers and colleagues.
