Peshawar: Senate elections: Opposition parties in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa decide not to withdraw their candidates
A meeting of opposition parties, chaired by Faisal Karim Kundi, discussed the current situation regarding the Senate elections and decided on a strategy.
The political turmoil has reached its peak ahead of the Senate elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with the opposition parties in the province deciding not to withdraw their candidates in the elections scheduled for July 21.
A joint meeting of opposition party leaders was held at the Governor House, Peshawar, under the chairmanship of Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi, in which it was decided not to withdraw any candidate in the Senate elections to be held on Monday (July 21).
In the opposition meeting, it was decided to implement the formula of 5 and 6 between the provincial government and the opposition. The meeting was attended by the central leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), Senator Maulana Atta-ur-Rehman, and the opposition leader, Dr. Ibad.
PPP parliamentary leader Ahmed Kundi and candidates of other opposition parties also attended. During the important meeting, the current situation regarding the Senate elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was discussed, and a strategy was decided.
Earlier, the political committee of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in connection with the Senate elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa convinced the disgruntled candidates to withdraw their nomination papers.
