A ceremony organized to mark the handover of the Blind Cricket Stadium, with Punjab Sports Minister Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar as the special guest

Lahore: 2025. A ceremony was organized by the Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Punjab, at the E-Library and Youth Center Nishtar Park Sports Complex to mark the completion and handover of Asia’s first blind cricket stadium, in which Punjab Sports Minister Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar attended as the special guest. In the ceremony, Divisional Sports Officer Lahore, Tanveer Abbas Shah, and Chairman Pakistan Blind Cricket Council, Sultan Shah, signed the documents for the handover of the Blind Cricket Stadium Rakh Jhidu and exchanged files on behalf of the Sports Department, Punjab. On this occasion, Secretary Sports Punjab Muzaffar Khan Sial and Director General Sports Punjab Khazra Fazal Chaudhry, the winning team of the Blind Cricket World Cup, the Women’s Blind Cricket Team, and the blind teams of all regions were also present.
On this occasion, Provincial Sports Minister Punjab Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar, while describing the Blind Cricket Stadium as a historical milestone on behalf of the Chief Minister Punjab, said that today is the happiest day in my one and a half year tenure. We invite the Indian blind cricket team to come to Pakistan and play in the new stadium and Insha Allah, Pakistan will win the trophy again. The Sports Department Punjab has built Asia’s first blind cricket stadium at a cost of Rs 140 million. Provincial Sports Minister Punjab Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar further said that no other province or country could take the credit for the Blind Cricket Stadium, Punjab province accomplished this feat.
Secretary Sports Muzaffar Khan Sial, while delivering the welcome address at the ceremony, said that paddle tennis courts are going to be built in Lahore, Multan and Pindi, however, other special children will also be able to play in the blind cricket stadium. In addition, Pakistan’s first baseball ground, volleyball complex and paddle tennis court are going to be built in Lahore itself, while the Sports Department Punjab will continue to provide all possible support to the Pakistan Blind Cricket Council. Chairman Pakistan Blind Cricket Council Syed Sultan Shah thanked the Punjab government and said that it is hoped that this stadium will not only provide a safe, modern and fully equipped venue for blind cricketers, but this initiative will also distinguish Pakistan in this field at the global level. He paid tribute to the entire team of the Punjab Sports Board for this historic achievement. Political leader Rana Faisal Hayat, Director Admin Dr. Muhammad Kaleem, Director Youth Affairs Syed Umair Shah attended the ceremony.
