Peshawar: It has been reported that 80 vehicles belonging to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Livestock Department have gone missing.
According to the audit report documents, the Livestock Department failed to present records for 80 vehicles during the audit.
The report revealed that, according to the Excise Department, more than 80 vehicles are registered in the name of DG Livestock, and despite registration, the missing vehicles are not present in the field or offices.
The report recommends locating the missing official vehicles of the Livestock Department and the audit report has also raised questions about the transparency of the department. The department had purchased more than 200 vehicles for projects and these were purchased for livestock projects from 2007 to 2021.
On the other hand, Provincial Minister for Livestock Fazal Hakeem said that he has given orders to collect all the vehicles and the Secretary for Livestock has sent letters to all departments for the recovery of the vehicles.
