Sahiwal: A meeting of the Board of Directors of Sahiwal Water and Sanitation Services Company was held under the chairmanship of Commissioner Sahiwal Division Dr. Asif Tufail. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioners of the three districts, Shahid Mahmood, Ahmed Usman Javed, Asif Raza, CEO Company Iftikhar Ali, Chief Officer Corporation Sheikh Ashfaq Ahmed, Private Members Pir Ehsanul Haq Idrees and Mrs. Shad Masood. The meeting unanimously approved changing the name of the company to Sahiwal Waste Management Company. Similarly, approval was given to transfer the clean water supply and sewage system to WASA Sahiwal and hand over the waste segregation plant constructed on Bonga Hayat Road to the company. The meeting also approved an annual budget of Rs 10.8 billion for the year 2025-26. Similarly, a proposal to appoint a field monitor in every two union councils was also approved. CEO Iftikhar Ali gave a detailed briefing on the company’s performance. Commissioner Sahiwal Dr. Asif Tufail said that full focus should be placed on uniform cleanliness of cities and villages. He further said that the system for monitoring the performance of private companies should also be improved and the work of classifying commercial establishments for imposing sanitation fees should be started immediately.
