Commissioner Sahiwal Division Dr. Asif Tufail’s detailed visit to the city for 3 hours. Deputy Commissioner Shahid Mahmood and CO Sheikh Ashfaq were also with him. He reviewed the problems of cleanliness and sewage and the ongoing work on the backlog projects. Commissioner Dr. Asif Tufail visited Farid Town, Kot Khadim Ali, Shadman Town, Madhali Road, Jinnah Chowk, Sori Gali, Ghala Mandi and GT Road. He met the people present on the spot and inquired about their problems. He said that the problems of cleanliness and sewage in the city are being solved on priority basis. He said that the supervisors should work in good faith and resolve the complaints of cleanliness immediately. Commissioner Dr. Asif Tufail, expressing displeasure over the accumulation of garbage in vacant plots in different areas, directed that the garbage should be collected from the vacant plots and the owners should be asked to build a boundary wall. He also inspected the sewerage lines laid on Dispensary Road and GT Road. He said that the pace of the ongoing work on GT Road should be accelerated so that the problems faced by the citizens can be eliminated. On this occasion, City Manager PSAP gave a detailed briefing about PSAP projects. MD WASA Tanveer Qaiser, Chief Officer Corporation Sheikh Ashfaq Ahmed were also accompanied during the visit.
