Sports reporter, Daily Dawn, Dawn TV report

London: England fast bowler Gus Atkinson repeated a 129-year-old feat on the second day of the fifth and final Test match against India, setting a rare record.

Atkinson, who missed the first four matches of the series due to injury, made a brilliant comeback and took 5 wickets against India while showing great bowling. He showed the way to the pavilion to Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Joruel, Washington Sundar, Mohammad Siraj and Prasad Krishna.

With the help of these five wickets, Atkinson completed 60 wickets in just 13 matches in his Test career with an average of 21 and a strike rate of 34.9.

With this performance, he took the honour after 129 years, which was previously held only by the great English bowler George Lohman, who took 60 wickets at a strike rate of 34.1 in 1896.

Australia’s Scott Boland is in third place with a strike rate of 36.
