Lahore: An important meeting was held under the chairmanship of Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora at his camp office, in which a detailed review of the arrangements for the “Minority Week” celebrations to be celebrated from August 7 to 11, 2025, was held.
The meeting was attended by the Secretary, Human Rights and Minority Affairs Department, Farid Ahmed Tarar, Chairman, Standing Committee Philbos Christopher MPA, MPA Emmanuel Ather, Shakeela Javed Arthur, Tariq Masih Gul, Wasim Anjum, Section Officer Admin HR&MA and other important personalities and representatives of departments.
Provincial Minister Ramesh Singh Arora, while briefing the participants of the meeting, said that the formal start of the Minority Week will be on August 7 with a colorful convoy that will leave from the “Cathedral Church of Pakistan” located in Regal Chowk on double-decker buses. A tree plantation drive will also be launched on the inauguration occasion. The convoy will go to various religious places including Krishna Temple, Gurdwara Dera Sahib, Badshahi Mosque, Mazar Iqbal and finally to Minar-e-Pakistan where major events will be held.
He further said that a program related to minorities will be held at a university on August 8, an important seminar will be held at Alhamra on August 9, while a “Sports Day” of the minority community will be celebrated on August 10.
He issued instructions to the relevant departments and said that the Tourism Department should arrange 04 double-decker buses, and the Traffic Police should formulate a complete strategy to keep the traffic flow flowing.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Tourism Department, WASA, PHA, Abandoned Waqf Property Board, Auqaf, Home Department, DGPR, Walled City Authority, Lahore Police and Traffic Police.
