Sahiwal: Regional Police Officer Sahiwal Mehboob Rashid chaired a crime meeting at DPO Office Sahiwal, in which DPO Sahiwal Rana Tahir Rehman Khan, SDPOs, DSPs, SHOs, and in-charge branches from across the district participated.
The meeting reviewed the overall law and order situation, crime prevention, progress of pending cases, ongoing operations against declared suspects, court fugitives, and drug peddlers in detail. RPO Sahiwal directed that intelligence-based operations be prioritized for crime control at all police stations and that indiscriminate action be taken against elements involved in serious crimes.
RPO Sahiwal clarified that officers should play a proactive role in the field and improve the system of patrolling, checking, and night duty so that the sense of security among the public is further strengthened. He stressed that the policemen coming to the police stations should be treated with courtesy, and timely and meritorious investigation of cases should be ensured.
While discussing traffic issues, RPO Sahiwal said that action should be taken against underage driving, one-wheeling, riding motorcycles without number plates and helmets indiscriminately. He directed that educational and awareness campaigns should be conducted to make the citizens aware of traffic rules so that accidents can be prevented.
Finally, he said that the performance of the police force is subject to public trust; therefore, every officer must perform their duties with honesty, duty and sincerity so that the trust between the police and the public can be further strengthened.
