Peshawar: 780 people died in floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while dozens of people are missing. During this time, infectious diseases broke out in the flood-affected areas.
The number of deaths due to rains and floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has reached 780, while 295 people have been injured. PDMA has issued a preliminary report on the loss of life and property due to recent rains and flash floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The report states that the highest number of people are missing in Buner district, with 150 people missing, while the dead include 279 men, 15 women and 13 children. A total of 74 houses were damaged, 11 houses were destroyed, while 63 houses were partially damaged.
More than 400 school students were safely rescued in Pir Baba, Buner district. Several houses were destroyed by floods in Swat Mingora, with debris up to several feet deep, large piles of stones lying around, and residents have been displaced.

The recent devastating rains and floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have resulted in large-scale loss of human lives and property, as well as damage to health facilities. 289 medical camps have been established in the affected areas of the province so far, where 5,627 patients were examined in the last 24 hours.
Most of these patients include children, women and the elderly. Health facilities have also been badly affected due to the floods. 21 hospitals were partially damaged while one hospital was destroyed, which is making it difficult to provide medical assistance.
So far, 354 cases of infectious diseases have been reported in health facilities, of which the highest number of cases were reported in Swat, including 194 cases of respiratory disease, 140 cases of diarrhea, 8 cases of scabies and 8 cases of bloody diarrhea or dysentery. However, no deaths due to infectious diseases have been reported so far.
According to the report, 26 patients were reported in Bajaur, most of whom were patients with respiratory disease and diarrhea. Swat is the most affected district, where 354 public health cases have been reported. During this time, infectious diseases broke out in the flood-affected areas.
