Peshwar:The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has started providing compensation to the families of Buner flood martyrs.
Provincial Sports Minister Syed Fakhar Jahan distributed compensation cheques to the heirs of the martyrs in Bishonai on behalf of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.
Provincial Sports Minister Syed Fakhar Jahan said that, as per the announcement of Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, compensation of Rs 2 million per martyr is being provided.
According to Deputy Commissioner Buner Kashif Qayyum, 218 confirmed deaths have occurred due to floods in the district.
He said that compensation money will be provided to the heirs of all the martyrs by 5 pm on Tuesday.
