Rawalpindi: DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has said that journalist Sohail Warraich showed irresponsibility for personal interest and publicity; those responsible for May 9 will have to face the law. The Army Chief did not give an interview to any journalist.
While talking to journalists, DG ISPR said that the article by Sohail Warraich being talked about was an event in Brussels, and hundreds of people took pictures there.
He said that there was no mention of PTI in the Brussels event, nor was there any mention of an apology, it is an attempt to gain personal interest and publicity. This act of the journalist was inappropriate; those responsible for May 9 and the facilitators should be brought to justice according to the law.
DG ISPR says that the media should show prudence; it is regrettable that the senior journalist also showed irresponsibility.
It should be noted that renowned journalist Sohail Warraich had claimed in his column published on August 16 that he had met Field Marshal Asim Munir in Brussels, and on the question regarding Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Imran Khan, the Army Chief had said that political reconciliation is possible by apologizing sincerely.
