Lahore: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has alleged that the son of Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, has been ‘kidnapped’ by plain-clothed men.

PTI lawyer Rana Mudassar Umar said that Aleema Khan’s son, Shahriz Khan, was ‘kidnapped’ from his home in Lahore.

He claimed that ‘people dressed in plain clothes entered the house and took Aleema Khan’s son with them. Neither a case has been registered against Shahrez nor does he have any connection with politics.’

Rana Mudassar said that no information was given about Shahrez’s presence and he would approach the Lahore High Court for his recovery.

PTI Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that “In an attack, people dressed in plain clothes kidnapped the son of Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan from her house.”

He further wrote that “We strongly condemn this hooliganism and cruelty, we demand that the current government and the Chief Justice immediately recover her son and return him safely.”

A post from PTI’s official X account said that Aleema Khan’s house was attacked by people dressed in plain clothes, her son Shahrez was kidnapped, the family was harassed and the staff was beaten up.

A lengthy statement from PTI’s central information department described the incident as “the height of hooliganism and oppression.”

The statement alleged that ‘Shahriz Khan was abducted from his room after breaking down the door of the house, brutally tortured the employees and after forcibly entering the room, Shahriz Khan was tortured in front of his two innocent children.’

The statement also highlighted that Shahriz was stopped from travelling with his wife at Lahore airport yesterday and was ‘illegally deboarded’. PTI termed this treatment as ‘blatant violation of basic human rights’.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur condemned the incident on X and demanded Shahriz’s immediate release.

He wrote that ‘the kidnapping of Aleema Khan’s son Shahriz from his house by plainclothes officials is condemnable.’

Former Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Omar Ayub Khan also condemned the incident.

He wrote on the X that ‘unknown people in plain clothes attacked the house, kidnapped her son Shahraz and tortured the domestic staff.’

He added that ‘such cowardly actions are proof that Prime Minister Imran Khan, his family and PTI workers cannot be defeated.’

PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja also highlighted the alleged attacks on domestic workers and harassment of the family during the incident.

Aleema Khan’s son Shahraz Khan was born in Lahore, completed his education from Aitchison College and then did his MBA from Oxford University. He is currently working as a regional head at Simba Global, a large linen supplier company in Australia, and is also a triathlete.
