Sahiwal: Commissioner Sahiwal Division Dr. Asif Tufail, along with Deputy Commissioner Shahid Mahmood, reviewed the ongoing erosion risks and rescue measures in view of the possible flood situation in River Ravi at Dad Baloch. Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Captain (Rtd) Usama Majeed Cheema, Exxon Inhar Department Hafiz Muhammad Talha and officers of other concerned departments were also present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner said that the protection of the life and property of the people is the top priority of the district administration, and no negligence will be tolerated in this regard. He directed the concerned departments to ensure the availability of machinery and manpower to prevent erosion and keep a close watch on possible threats. Later, the Commissioner visited the relief camp set up at Government Higher Secondary School Noorshah. He said that the affected families should be provided with uninterrupted housing, food and medical facilities, and the standard of cleanliness should be improved so that public health problems do not arise. The Commissioner also appealed to the public to immediately report any emergency or danger to the district control room or the relevant departments.
