Floods wreak havoc in Punjab, settlements submerged after several dams burst, 140 villages submerged in Phalia, 22 people killed

Lahore: Severe flood conditions in the Ravi, Chenab and Sutlej rivers have caused devastation, and settlements have been submerged after several dams burst. Millions of people have been affected, thousands of people have been rescued, 22 people have died in the flood situation, while many are missing, and 12 deaths have been confirmed.

Millions of acres of agricultural land have been destroyed as water from major rivers in Punjab overflowed their banks and entered settlements. More than 600,000 people have been affected, hundreds of villages have been submerged, while the damage to infrastructure will be assessed only after the water recedes.
