Islamabad: Advisor to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah Khan has said that Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir’s term will end in November 2027.
He said that earlier, the appointment of the Army Chief was for four years, since 1976, this period was reduced to three years, and now the term of the Army Chief has become five years. Field Marshal Asim Munir was appointed as the Army Chief for three years, because that was the law at that time, but now the five-year law has come, so he will remain the Army Chief until 2027.
He said that the term of the Air Chief had completed, but after the amendment to the constitution, his appointment automatically became five years; no new notification is required for this. When his five years are completed, he will retire.
He said that the term of the Field Marshal will end in November 2027, and if there is no extension, he will retire. According to Rana Sanaullah, there have been four extensions in this country, some have been giving extensions to themselves, a man who is a Field Marshal, who has earned this rank, did not take it from himself, but the government has given him this rank, I do not think that anyone is more deserving of an extension than him, under the new law, the last age limit has also expired.
It should be noted that earlier, while talking in another TV program, Rana Sanaullah had said that the decision to continue has been made in the Murree meeting of Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz.
