Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has come under fire from social media users for sharing a two-year-old photo and claiming that it shows fake steps taken for the rehabilitation of flood victims.
“Modern portable washrooms were built and installed in relief camps in Chiniot,” he wrote while uploading a picture of a portable washroom on X.
But the photo attached to the post — showing a port-a-lou — also has the date it was taken, indicating that it was taken in 2023.
Social media users soon noticed that the photo did not look recent and was taken from an online marketplace website.
“Mary should seriously consider firing her PR and media team,” a journalist advised on X (formerly Twitter).
A few days ago, social media users slammed Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for hanging her picture on a mosque.
