In Iman Mazari’s absence, Chief Justice Sarfaraz Dogar rejects the request to transfer the case to another bench

Islamabad: During the hearing on the petition of Balochistan Unity Committee (BYC) leader Mahrang Baloch in the High Court, Advocate Iman Mazari did not appear in Court Room No. 1.

When the assistant lawyer mentioned the complaint, Chief Justice Sarfaraz Dogar asked on what basis the complaint was filed. What had happened in the court? The lead lawyer of the case should have appeared in the court, but the court rejected the request to transfer the case to another bench.

Chief Justice Sardar Sarfaraz Dogar heard the petition to remove Mahrang Baloch’s name from the travel ban list. Advocate Iman Mazari did not appear in the court.

Iman Mazari’s assistant lawyer, while requesting to transfer the case to another court, took the position that Iman Mazari had filed a complaint regarding the incident that occurred during the previous hearing, and requested that the case be transferred to another bench.

Chief Justice Sarfaraz Dogar remarked on what basis on which the complaint was filed. What happened in the court? The court’s question is, why did the lead lawyer not appear?

He said that no proper justification was given for the lawyer’s absence. The court rejected the assistant lawyer’s request and adjourned the hearing of the case indefinitely.
