Sahiwal: Taking effective action against illegal profiteering on the special instructions of Deputy Commissioner Shahid Mahmood, SDO Para Force Noman Qaiser raided various areas and took strict action against those selling food items at high prices. During the operation, a total of Rs 33,000 in fines were imposed on those selling various necessities, including sugar, vegetables and bread at prices above the fixed rates. These operations were carried out in various areas, including Deepalpur Bazaar, Mazdoor Pali, 86/6-R and Madhali Road, where the Para Force conducted a comparative review of the rate lists on the spot and immediately issued challans and fines against the violating shopkeepers. SDO Para Noman Qaiser said that providing relief to the people is the top priority of the district administration, and no one will be allowed to take undue advantage of inflation. He warned the shopkeepers to strictly follow the government rates; otherwise, they would face strict legal action. Deputy Commissioner Shahid Mahmood, while appreciating the action, has clarified that operations against illegal profiteers will be continued daily so that relief can be provided to the common citizens.
