Dubai: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has filed a formal complaint against the behavior of Pakistani players Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan during the match played between Pakistan and India in Dubai in the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup 2025.
The BCCI has also submitted video evidence to match referee Andy Pycroft in this regard and has demanded strict action against both players.
According to the Indian news agency Press Trust of India and the Hindustan Times newspaper, the Indian team told the match referee that Sahibzada Farhan and Haris Rauf had committed ‘provocative and inappropriate’ behaviors, which are against the spirit of the game.
According to the report, fast bowler Haris Rauf repeatedly reacted to the continuous chants of ‘Kohli, Kohli’ from the Indian spectators.
He imitated a fighter jet several times while fielding on the boundary line, and after taking the wicket of Sanju Samson at one, even showed a ‘6-0’ gesture. In the same match, opener Sahibzada Farhan had celebrated ‘gunfire’ after completing a half-century.

In the past, former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni also expressed his happiness by adopting this type of style during the game.
The BCCI further says that Haris Rauf also had a heated exchange with Indian batsmen Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma on the field, which the board strongly objected to. According to an Indian official, ‘Such actions are against the spirit of the game. We have not only filed a complaint with Pycroft in this regard but have also sent videos of both players.
