Sahiwal: An important meeting was held at the Commissioner’s Office under the chairmanship of Commissioner Dr. Asif Tufail to review the progress of the ongoing survey for rehabilitation and relief of flood victims in the Sahiwal division. Deputy Commissioner Shahid Mahmood, Additional Commissioner Coordination Dr. Saifullah Bhatti, and other officers participated in the meeting. Addressing the meeting, Commissioner Dr. Asif Tufail directed that the ongoing survey for flood victims should be carried out with complete impartiality and transparency so that timely and accurate assistance to the actual victims could be possible. He said that the Deputy Commissioners should visit the field and directly monitor the survey so that there is no negligence or negligence. The Commissioner assured that the Punjab government will fully compensate all the losses of the flood victims and provide all possible relief to the affected families. During the meeting, the ongoing campaign against encroachments and hoarding and the performance of the Para Force were also reviewed. Commissioner Dr. Asif Tufail said that the Para Force is playing an effective role against encroachments and illegal hoarding, which needs to be further improved. The meeting was informed that the Para Force has so far removed 765 permanent and 4300 temporary encroachments in Sahiwal district, while fines of Rs. 231,500 were also imposed on various violations. Commissioner Sahiwal, Dr. Asif Tufail, directed that the Deputy Commissioners should continue to monitor the performance of the Para Force so that timely and effective resolution of public issues can be ensured.
