Visa-free agreements and new security features improve Pakistan’s passport’s ‘global ranking’, but by how much?

Islamabad: Pakistan’s passport generally ranks lower than most countries in the world, but this year, the Pakistani passport has joined the top 100 in the Henley Passport Index 2025, moving up to 96th place.

According to the Interior Ministry, Pakistan has signed visa-free agreements with 50 countries for diplomatic and official passport holders by 2025, while such agreements are under consideration with more countries.

Similarly, Pakistan has signed agreements with 22 countries so far regarding green passports, under which Pakistani citizens can also hold the citizenship of these countries.
