Arbitrariness in food prices will never be tolerated, SDO Para Noman Qaiser talks to Dawn TV

Sahiwal: Crackdown against illegal encroachments will continue across the district. This was said by SDO Para Noman Qaiser while talking to Dawn TV UK. He said that a grand action was taken against illegal profiteers in the main market of the neighboring town of Kamir. Shopkeepers selling vegetables, pulses, chicken and other essential commodities at prices above the fixed rates were fined more than Rs 40,000 on the spot. SDO Para Noman Qaiser conducted a detailed inspection of various shops in the market and checked the rate lists. He said that providing relief to the people is the top priority of the district administration, and arbitrariness in the prices of food items will not be tolerated at all. He directed the shopkeepers to display the rate lists in a prominent place and to politely behave with the customers. He said that operations against illegal profiteering are ongoing daily so that the people can get necessities at their original prices. Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Shahid Mahmood appreciated the performance of the para-force and said that the operations against price gouging are a positive step towards public relief. He appealed to the citizens to immediately inform the district control room about the shopkeepers charging more than the price list so that timely and effective action can be taken against them.
