Lahore: There has been positive progress in talks between the government and the religious party to end the Lahore-Islamabad march of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan. The parties have agreed on some demands, while talks are ongoing on other points.
The march reached Mureed on Saturday and, according to reports, remained there till Sunday afternoon. The administration has dug a trench at Sadhoki ahead of Mureed and closed the GT Road. However, tensions have eased after the talks began on Saturday night.
Sources say that the government is in talks with the leaders of the religious party, Rana Sanaullah, Khawaja Salman Rafique and Allama Tahir Ashrafi.
Sources say that good progress is being made during the talks; the parties have moved forward on some demands, talks are ongoing on some demands, and the government wants the march to end.
