Sahiwal: Treasury cleaning has started in the name of Clean Punjab in Sahiwal. Supervisors and other officers of Clean Punjab are confined to offices. A few roads in the city through which the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner etc. pass. Apart from these, in the inner city, Farid Town, Tariq Bin Ziyad Colony, Fateh Sher Colony, along with piles of garbage, garbage removed from the sewers for several weeks is seen lying on the roads. According to local journalist Malik Mehboob Alam, Rs 2.25 billion is about to be wasted, cleaning is being done at 30 percent out of 100, no village or town has been cleaned by the Clean Punjab contractor. Bills have also been taken. Garbage is visible around the No. 10 Stop Girls School in Farid Town, Sahiwal and in the streets and alleys of the city. There is a nexus between the contractor and the CEO of Clean Punjab, due to which the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner are being given a good report. Commissioner Sahiwal should take notice of this matter and take strict action against the CEO of the company. There are also employees in this project who are being paid salaries by the contractor of Clean Punjab Tehsil Sahiwal, but the CO has posted government employees in the officers’ quarters at the behest of the company. The residents of Sahiwal appealed to the Chief Minister of Punjab, the Chief Secretary, Punjab Commissioner Sahiwal to immediately replace the company CO and contractors who have a nexus with each other and save the lives of the citizens so that the Clean Punjab program can be proven to be a real program. Garbage remains at the doors of the citizens for many days, while the sludge removed from the sewers is turning into dust after drying. Despite repeated warnings, no officer is taking notice.
