Lahore: Provincial Sports Minister Punjab Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar officially inaugurated the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign held at Farooq Hospital, Thokar Niaz Baig, Lahore. Doctors, medical experts, social figures, a large number of women and the hospital administration attended the event.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, the Provincial Sports Minister said that
Punjab women are advised to consult their doctors immediately if they see any lump on their bodies because timely screening and treatment can save lives. Breast cancer is not an incurable disease; however, it is very important to start its treatment on time. He said that the Punjab government is taking all possible steps to protect the health of women; however, such awareness campaigns will be further promoted with the cooperation of the private sector. These efforts of private institutions and hospitals are commendable. The Punjab government will provide full support in all these measures so that awareness can be raised among women and the fear of this disease can be reduced.
Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar further said that social organizations and educational institutions should play a role in increasing awareness at the public level. We all should actively participate in acts of goodness and service.
