Karachi: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced the launch of a nationwide public relations campaign and the holding of a ‘big public rally’ in Karachi during November.

A press release issued said that this decision was taken during the visit of PTI Secretary General Barrister Salman Akram Raja to Karachi. During his visit, he met party leaders, including PTI Sindh President Haleem Adil Sheikh, parliamentary leaders Shabbir Qureshi and Jamal Siddiqui.

Salman Akram Raja held detailed consultations on the current political situation, the strategy for the release of Chairman Imran Khan and organizational matters.

Speaking to the media, Salman Akram Raja announced that a ‘big public rally will be held in Karachi’ in November, followed by similar gatherings in Hyderabad and other major cities to boost the nationwide public outreach campaign.

The senior PTI leader said that the party is united and active for the release of Imran Khan.

He said that Mahmood Khan Achakzai has been nominated as the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, Raja Nasir Abbas as the Leader of the Opposition in the Senate and Sohail Afridi as the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He termed these steps as a ‘wave of political renewal’ in the PTI.

Barrister Salman Akram said: ‘We are committed to the supremacy of the Constitution and the rule of law. Truth and justice will prevail. All the false cases framed against Imran Khan are being proved wrong in the courts. However, delaying tactics are being used to obstruct justice, but these baseless cases will end soon.’

He reiterated Imran Khan’s message and said, ‘Patron-in-Chief Imran Khan has instructed the nation to have faith in Allah Almighty, victory always belongs to the truth. He has instructed the party to reach out to the people through rallies across the country to raise awareness among the people against oppression and injustice.’

Expressing deep concern over the situation in Sindh, Salman Akram Raja said that the PPP has ‘brought Sindh to the brink of destruction in the last 17 years.’

He said that all cities from Karachi to interior Sindh are in a state of disrepair, lack of rule of law and unrest have made the lives of the people unbearable.

Barrister Salman Akram said that he himself visited several cities in Sindh and “saw a scene of despair and desolation everywhere.”

He alleged that “the corruption of the PPP has looted the public resources of Sindh, but now the people of Sindh have woken up. Wherever we went, we found overwhelming public support for Imran Khan. The people of Sindh want change, they want an honest, brave and sincere leader of the nation like Imran Khan.”
