Ban approved under the Anti-Terrorism Act, the Punjab government had sent a recommendation to the federal government

Islamabad: The federal cabinet has approved a ban on Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), TLP was approved to be banned under the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997.
A meeting of the federal cabinet was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the agenda of which included a summary to ban TLP.
After reviewing the summary in detail, the federal cabinet approved banning TLP under the powers of Section 11B(1) of the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997.
It should be noted that the Punjab government had sent a recommendation to ban TLP to the federal government.
It should be noted that during the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government, TLP was banned in 2021. Later, after 7 months, the PTI government withdrew the decision to ban TLP.
