London: Pakistani-origin TikToker Mehak Bukhari, who was serving a prison sentence in the UK for the murder of two Pakistani-origin youths, has had her sentence reduced.

Mehak Bukhari had filed a petition in the court to reduce the sentence, which the court accepted, stating that the age and immaturity of the convict were not properly taken into account in the initial decision.

Mehak Bukhari and her mother, Nasreen Bukhari, have been in prison since September 2023. In the first instance, Mehak was sentenced to 31 years and 8 months in prison and Nasreen Bukhari to 26 years and 9 months.

It may be recalled that in February 2022, Mehak Bukhari, her mother and five others were accused of inviting two youths, Saqib Hussain and Hashim Ijazuddin, to a parking lot, where the two youths were killed in a road accident as a result of a planned attack.

According to police, 45-year-old Nasreen Bukhari was in a relationship with a youth who was threatening her if she did not end the relationship. Mehak Bukhari allegedly planned the plan to help her mother.
