Abbottabad: A tragic incident took place during a student protest against the administration at Abbottabad University, in which five students were seriously injured when a vehicle ran over them.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident took place when a clash broke out between some students during the protest. At the same time, a vehicle entered the crowd of students, as a result of which several people were injured and were immediately shifted to the hospital.
Protesters say that the vehicle allegedly contained students affiliated with a political party and the sons of a local MLA. Protesters alleged that the incident took place in the presence of the police.
According to police officials, an investigation into the incident is underway, the injured students are being treated in the hospital, and legal action will be taken against those responsible.
Condemning the incident, the university administration has said that steps are being taken to restore order on the campus.
