PTI rally in Quetta, the city is completely shut, internet, mobile service are suspended, all roads are blocked with containers and trucks, traffic jam

Quetta: Ahead of the rally to be held at the Hockey Ground today by PTI and Tehreek-e-Tahafuz-e-Ain Pakistan, the district administration has blocked all roads in the city with containers and trucks, while mobile internet service has also been suspended.

The district administration says that permission for the rally has been rejected due to security concerns; however, PTI has announced to hold the rally in any case. According to the administration, Section 144 has been imposed across the province for a month, under which any public gathering is banned.

A heavy contingent of police has been deployed across the city to deal with any untoward incident. Due to the closure of roads, citizens, especially students going to schools and colleges, are facing severe difficulties. According to several students, they could not reach their educational institutions, due to which affected their classes were affected.

The closure of major highways and intersections has created a traffic jam situation, and citizens were stuck in vehicles for hours. On the other hand, the PTI leadership says that it will hold the rally in any case. According to the party spokesperson, the rally is for the restoration of the supremacy of the constitution and democratic rights, and the rally will be held despite the obstacles of the administration.

The administration has suspended mobile internet service in the city, which is severely affecting communication and daily activities. Security forces have been directed to remain alert, while citizens have been asked not to step out of their homes unnecessarily. The current situation has further increased political tension in Quetta, where the PTI is continuing a series of protests across the country.
