Peshawar: A case was registered against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi in Islamabad on Sunday for making statements against state institutions and spreading misleading information.
The case was registered by the National Cybercrime Investigation Agency on the government’s complaint.
According to the FIR registered with the Cybercrime Reporting Center, Sohail Afridi is accused of sharing videos based on hateful and baseless statements against state institutions on social media, which were used to damage the reputation of the state and national security institutions.
The FIR said that Sohail Afridi made false allegations against state institutions while speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail on November 6, which later went viral on social media.
It was further stated that the videos were also shared from the official pages of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), which allegedly contained false and inflammatory statements.
