Rawalpindi: On the arrival of the New Year, the doctors of the Holy Family Hospital performed a unique feat and issued a death certificate of a two-day-old living baby. The relatives confirmed that the baby was alive after the death certificate was issued.

A woman named Rubina gave birth to a baby at the Holy Family Hospital yesterday. The baby was in a bad condition. The doctors issued a death certificate in a hurry. The writing on the death certificate clearly states that the body has been handed over to the relatives. The death certificate bears the seal and signature of Dr. Tayyaba Sadaf. The MS formed an inquiry committee headed by Dr. Hina Sattar, Head of the Pediatrics Department.

MS Holy Family Hospital Dr. Akhtar Mahmood Malik says that action will be taken against whoever is found responsible in the inquiry; however, there are such incidents in medical history when the patient’s breathing becomes very shallow, and there is no certainty that he will survive.

He said that this child was suffering from Lazarus syndrome, in which breathing becomes shallow; however, the child is alive and has been transferred to a ventilator.
