Islamabad: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has said in a statement that it rejects the recent behavior of the government and the jail administration regarding the medical examination of former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s eyes in Adiala Jail.

In a statement issued on Sunday evening, the opposition party said that ‘the government’s statement that the party leadership was given a message to come to the jail during the examination is actually a blatant attempt to divert attention from the main issue.’

According to the statement, ‘This issue was not about the presence or absence of the party leadership. The constitutional, moral, and legal right to decide on such sensitive and delicate medical matters belongs to Imran Khan’s family. The family cannot make any decision until Imran Khan’s personal doctors are present during the examination. Therefore, there is neither moral logic nor legal justification for symbolically inviting the party leadership.’
The PTI statement further said, ‘We demand from the government that Imran Khan’s treatment should be started immediately in the presence of his family and his personal doctors. We will not consider any process other than this as transparent, credible and acceptable.’
On the other hand, the sit-in by the opposition alliance, Tehreek-e-Tahafuz-e-Ain Pakistan, and PTI at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House and Parliament House in Islamabad is continuing for the third day.

The sit-in at Parliament House is being attended by several members of the assembly and Senate, including Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Leader of the Opposition in the Senate Raja Nasir Abbas and PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan.
The sit-in at the gate of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House is attended by Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, members of his provincial cabinet, former Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, and dozens of other members of the assembly.
