The project for land system reform, the Punjab Land Records Authority, and the Board of Revenue, Government of Punjab, are continuously providing public services related to land records across the province. In this regard, from now on, only “Green Property Certificate” will be acceptable for buying and selling property in Sahiwal district, said Assistant Director Land Records Ahmed Shaukat while talking to the most widely published and  newspaper of the year from the UK, Nawaiwaqt, English newspaper Dawn London, and Dawn TV. He said that, as per the directives of the Director General, Punjab Land Records Authority, Ikram-ul-Haq, the Punjab government has completely abolished the sale deed and all other traditional documents. Now, all types of property transactions in Sahiwal will be possible only through the Green Property Certificate. In the future, this system will be extended to other districts of the province and then to the entire province in phases.
It should be noted that earlier, the issuance of Green Property Certificates has been started across the province. The main objective of this initiative is to protect the ownership and boundaries of the property of the people, as well as eliminate possible fraud and forgery in the process of buying and selling.
According to the order of the Director General, Punjab Land Records Authority, Ikram-ul-Haq, under the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, a modern, transparent, and effective land-related system has been introduced in the province. The Green Property Certificate is an important milestone that ensures verification of both ownership and possession. The implementation of the digital land record system has not only significantly reduced land disputes but also provided better legal protection to the citizens.
To obtain a Green Property Certificate, citizens should approach their nearest Land Record Center, where the certificate is issued after verification of data, survey, and verification by the Assistant Director of Land Records (ADLR).
Citizens should obtain a Green Property Certificate today to protect their property and ensure transparent transactions, and protect their property from all types of fraud.
